In recent times there has
been plenty of discussion within the business travel
industry about the role of benchmarking. How do
corporate customers really know how their Travel Manager
is performing, are they sourcing the 'best' airfare,
hotel rate etc. And are they pro actively offering the
lowest 'logical' option each and every time whether the
customer asks for it or not. The domestic airfare
market has never been this competitive in that we now
have at least two national airlines offering truly
competitive airfares for the business traveller. Benchmarking
is something we at Travelogic place a high emphasis
on, what is required is communication with our customers
in educating and define what they regard as being a
'logical' alternative. This is then promoted at
consultant level and recorded for customer scrutiny. Further
we are very pleased to have these statistics vetted by a
third party auditor in demonstrating to our customers the
significance we place on driving down our customers
business travel costs.
