Directors Comment
"I had the pleasure of attending the much publicised launch of the new Virgin Blue international airline 'V Australia' earlier this month with typical Virgin fanfare. Sir Richard Branson along with Morris Iemma put on a 'song and dance' show as you would expect as they announced daily flights Sydney/Los Angeles from 15 December. It has been public knowledge for a long time that Qantas have been very protective of the key trans pacific route which has reported to have delivered up to 20% of the airlines profits. V Australia have announced business class fares from $9,999 which represent a 20%+ saving over the competition. Undoubtedly Qantas and United Airlines will defend their share and ultimately the extra capacity and competition will benefit the consumer. "
